When Death was Arrested

Oh your grace so free - Washes over me - You have made me new - Now life begins with you It's your endless love - Pouring down on us - You have made us new - Now life begins with you. Oh we're free free - Forever we're free - Come join the song - Of all the redeemed! (Death Was Arrested by North Point Worship)

When I heard these lyrics this morning, I was reminded of the ultimate sacrifice that was made for our freedom and how fitting for the Spirit to bring this to my mind on a day that we are remembering all the men and women who have died for our freedom.

John 1:16-17 (AMP) For out of His Fullness we have all received grace upon grace . For the Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

I feel like I may not be alone in this, but I have battled thoughts of feeling unworthy. I could list several reasons of situations in my life where I have felt 'not enough'.....which is why it's so personal to me that God loved me so desperately that he gave the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom. This is also the reason I feel so complete and whole, knowing Jesus as my Savior, my Friend, and my Father.

So I ask this question.... what does it mean to be free? What is it that you see in that person that knows Christ as their Savior that sets them apart? What is that peace that you feel when you are in their presence? What is the joy behind their smile despite their circumstances? That my friend, is the favor of God. The undeserved, unearned, favor of God. And His power is made perfect in our weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
