Turn on the Light

A few months back, I went to my car early in the morning before the sun had risen. Not paying attention I stood for a moment before looking down and seeing a small snake by my feet. In a hurry I did not turn the light on near the garage nor did I pay attention to where I was stepping.

Now, thank you JESUS that snake was dead but it was a really scary experience that haunted me all day. If I had only taken a moment to turn on the light...

Recently I have been praying over my pride. I’m not talking about the kind of pride that is visible from the outside, but the kind from the inside that makes me want make decisions based on my will. It’s a battle between the flesh and spirit. But I do know that God’s direction will always be better than mine. Jesus IS the light.

Knowing this, we must stand boldly because of who we are in Christ. We die to our flesh and become alive in the Spirit! We embrace Him and receive authority. Like John, we must point the way to the light. It is not us, but God in us! To Him be the glory.
