Mind-shift

One thing I constantly reflect on as a follower of Christ is how “this time was different”. Accepting Christ is the first step in your journey but what follows is a long road ahead where your heart now recognizes what is not pleasing and you desire more of what is good.
At first you are reading devotions and listening to praise and worship and talking about Him…and slowly you loosen until one day He seems so far away. But He’s NOT!
Often the common question of “Can I lose salvation?” is the very tool the enemy uses against us and to separate his people. I would never debate this topic but rather I just ask God to speak to me in a simple way about the Truth.
I ran because I felt I had lost God and I was too far away. But He was always near. It’s really that simple. When you know that He is near then it is a mind shift that it’s not about if we can unravel our sin and find him again. He unravels our mess and meets us where we are because He is never far from us.
Today I have been walking with Christ for just over 3 years and its my longest stride yet. I am determined to get back up every time my face hits the dirt. What changed was not becoming perfect or not making mistakes. The people close to me will tell you that. But I know he’s close and I stay aware of when the enemy tries to tell me he’s far away. His grace is what drives my desire to know more and more about this God who forgave me BEFORE I fell in the dirt.
John 14:6 - I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
