Parenting is most definitely the hardest yet rewarding job I have ever been blessed with. You have sleepless nights when they are infants, and then as they start to grow when they are sick and you set your alarms to check their fever in the middle of the night...if you sleep at all.

But what you’re sometimes not prepared for is the heart stuff. When they reach the age they pull away, when their heart is broken, when someone hurts them...when they won’t tell you what’s hurting them.

It’s in these times that I’ve asked myself...

Have I done my best?

Did I fail them in anyway?

Have I shaped them into their best self?

With one child about to leave home and another leaving that tough middle school experience and enter into high school...I have had a few prayer filled months. There were times I wanted to intercede...were they ok? But God assured me that His hand was upon them and I followed His lead. I sat in the passenger seat and let God drive.

He began to show me the blessings on their lives. My daughter is a complete beauty from the inside out. She has flourished and is independent and wise. My son is a brilliant young man and his talents are now beginning to emerge. My prayers are being answered! God has a purpose for their lives and everyday he is helping me to see them as His children.

Watching your children go through trials isn’t easy. We want to protect them. But sometimes we forget that they have a Heavenly Father that is with them even when we are not.

Trust Him! Pray! Believe! Claim His promises!

Then watch as the blessings begin to pour out!

Romans 8:26 The Passion Translation (TPT)

26 And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
