Fear is a Liar

Since I have moved to Florida I have been “aware” that there are snakes here and a lot of other wildlife. I’ve had a few encounters that have literally sucked the breath out of my lungs from fear. Sometimes I take walks and I keep my eyes peeled for any movement and then other times I am not as alert. One day I was walking and saw a snake in the road and was nearly run over from a car because I froze in the middle of the road.
Wait for it....
Only to realize it was a stick.
Jeremiah 17:7 says...
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is.
Fear is paralyzing and comes in all forms. Sometimes it can distract us from the real dangers and sometimes our perception of something causes unwarranted anxiety. Truth be told, I’ve probably walked by hundreds of snakes that weren’t in plain sight and never knew it because I was focused on my destination, my journey.
Jeremiah 17:8 goes on to say...
They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It’s has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
In this journey I’m in, I am just living one day at a time praying that I can just keep my eyes on the Lord. There are no promises of tomorrow or that I won’t have troubles but I will be planted and when the heat comes...I’m gonna tap into my source, the Living Water!
