Mine

There have been many occasions where I have been afraid in my life.  I can think very specifically on a time or two that I actually thought my life was going to end.  Even worse I can recall a time that I looked at my youngest son and wondered if he was going to take another breath.  There have been times I have been under such overwhelming spiritual attack that I could feel the thickness of the enemy all around me and wondered how I would escape.  Fear can bring you to your knees fast. Coming out of these moments or seasons of my life I am always humbled by God's grace and provisions on my life.  Even we can't see him he's working.  He's our Way Maker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the Darkness. 2 Samuel 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust; he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou savest me from violence. What I love about this scripture is that it's personal.  He is MY rock.  He is not distant.  His our our personal hero and protector. And while God doesn't approve of our disobedience, just like David, when we humble ourselves and call out to our Lord....he honors his promises to us.  Even though we may not deserve it, His grace covers us. He is MINE! My Rock = Stability; Being grounded My Shield = Protection against blows or missiles The Horn of My Salvation = Symbol reflective of the Lord's powers; His perfect sacrifice; Protection of all believers. My High Tower = Protection and Provision My Refuge = Shelter or Protection from danger My Savior = One that saves from danger (Physical and Spiritual) My God = The Great I AM!
