I can look back on my life and remember some really low points. Some cringe-worthy. Some bring tears to my eyes. Some make me feel embarrassed.
This morning I was listening to Chris Tomlin’s Good Father. I turned to a passage in Luke where Christ told the parable of the lost sheep.
I was that lost sheep. And who was I for the king of the universe to search for me...especially when I didn’t want to be found? But He loves me so much he protected me and kept searching.
When he found me, he didn’t scold me and tell me he was ashamed. He didn’t punish me and tell me I had done too much to be saved. And when I cowered down from shame, with my face in the ground,
He Smiled,
Reached down,
Lifted me up,
and held me high above everything and told me that he wanted to use me for his good!!! Without even blinking, he entrusted me with a new purpose.
That is my Good Father! ❤️
Luke 15:4-6 The Passion Translation (TPT)
4–5 “There once was a shepherd with a hundred lambs, but one of his lambs wandered away and was lost. So the shepherd left the ninety-nine lambs out in the open field and searched in the wilderness for that one lost lamb. He didn’t stop until he finally found it. With exuberant joy he raised it up and placed it on his shoulders, carrying it back with cheerful delight! 6 Returning home, he called all his friends and neighbors together and said, ‘Let’s have a party! Come and celebrate with me the return of my lost lamb. It wandered away, but I found it and brought it home.’”
